Trout Lily Ring

size 6.5

Citrine stones - rose cut

Sterling silver - 95% reclaimed

Reclaimed copper trout accent at base of the band

I started making the Trout Lily ring in the Spring of 2020. As we all know, that was the beginning of the Pandemic, and being "stuck" at home meant more time to find wildflowers and fishing. The design has evolved somewhat through the years, and this year I wanted to incorporate the lily's color. So, citrine it is and I am really happy how it turned out.

A hell of a ring made from reclaimed sterling silver. I melted down mismatched sterling silverware for this one. Tapered band for a comfortable, everyday kind of ring!

Trout lilies are one of the first to bloom in my area. They usually start to bloom in mid January, which is a sight for sore eyes! For me, when the trout lilies are blooming, the trout in the rivers are hungry. Trout lilies are a wildflower native to North American and their colonies can be 200 to 300 years old. Some information I found online that I think is interesting: The Cherokee used the trout lily to reduce fever, heal wounds even prevent pregnancy. They are also called yellow dogtooth violet.

Made with love - one of a kind, twisted, bent, set, sawn, etched, fired by my own two hands.
