Sterling silver - reclaimed

Such a cool pair of book match stones that I think look like a Greyhound dog. I wanted to frame these stones in a way that was meaningful to me. I grew up by a railroad. Although we lived in the woods, the railroad tracks were just a short walk. There was an old Railroad Crossing sign that is imprinted in my mind as happy times. There were many a’ days when I was out by the railroad balancing on the tracks. Hiding from trains and sometimes hoping aboard if they went by slow enough. I know, I know! My mom was always working, but people cared less back then about safety. I survived and have a lot of well worn memories from those tracks. I love these.

Note to buyer: The reclaiming process is a bit of a long one. Most of the sterling silver I buy is from well used jewelry that isn't being worn anymore or has been broken. I also buy used sterling silverware. I melt it all down and roll it into sheet and wire. This means that I don't have to buy freshly mined silver that is much easier to work with. Reclaimed pieces cost more because of this extra process. In the end, reclaiming metal for my wares is gratifying and worth it to me. I hope you feel the same. With love.

Made with love - one of a kind, twisted, bent, set, sawn, stamped, fired by my own two hands.
