Permit Cuff

Sterling silver - reclaimed

Gold fill accent on sun

Opal

1” in width

5.5” from end to end - fits a size 5-5.75 wrist

I recently traveled down to Mexico to fish for Permit on the Gulf Coast. That trip was very meaningful to me in so many ways. I saw more species of animals than I could count. The conditions for fishing were rough, but I did have a few shots at the bigger fish. Just getting the chance to cast to a permit was enough to get my heart thumping, but it wasn’t just the fishing that inspired this cuff.

It was the people I was around and the culture of the place. I know there are a lot of permit fans out there, so I’m excited to see who gets this one. I’m quite fond of it myself.

With all jewelry pieces, but especially cuffs - it is important to open and close your cuff very little. My advice is to pull the cuff open just enough to SLIP onto the side of your wrist (the thinnest part of the wrist) and then close enough to feel like it won't slip off. And then let it be and enjoy.

Note to buyer: The reclaiming process is a bit of a long one. Most of the sterling silver I buy is from well used jewelry that isn't being worn anymore or has been broken. I also buy used sterling silverware. I melt it all down and roll it into sheet and wire. This means that I don't have to buy freshly mined silver that is much easier to work with. Reclaimed pieces cost more because of this extra process. In the end, reclaiming metal for my wares is gratifying and worth it to me. I hope you feel the same. With love.

Made with love - one of a kind, twisted, bent, set, sawn, stamped, fired by my own two hands.
