I’m really careful to make my earrings as lightweight as possible, but sometimes the stone is a little heavier than I planned. These earrings are still lightweight, but not as lightweight as most of my earrings. If you have sensitive lobes like I do, these may not be the earrings for you. They weigh .30 ounces each, which many would consider lightweight.
First off, the color is obviously Fall, but the reason for the name, The Call of Fall, is because of that first cool breeze after a long hot summer. The way these earrings move and sound is like that first cool breeze! I hand forged the chimes and the patina came out so nicely. I’m a big fan of these earrings, if I do say so myself!
Note to buyer: The reclaiming process is a bit of a long one. Most of the sterling silver I buy is from well used jewelry that isn't being worn anymore or has been broken. I also buy used sterling silverware. I melt it all down and roll it into sheet and wire. This means that I don't have to buy freshly mined silver that is much easier to work with. Reclaimed pieces cost more because of this extra process. In the end, reclaiming metal for my wares is gratifying and worth it to me. I hope you feel the same. With love.
