Snake Canyon Cuff

Picture Jasper

Sterling silver - 40% reclaimed

This cuff measures 5.25" on the inside, which is on the smaller side. It will fit a 4.75" to 5.75"

I have worked with a lot of beautiful stones the past six years, but this picture jasper steals the freaking show!

One for the snake spirit. One day I walked to the river on an overcast warm fall day. I knew that part of the river to be politely crowded with rocks and ferns - a perfect place for snakes. That feeling you get when someone is watching you hit me and I looked down to see a really big copperhead. She knew I was coming and I could tell she wanted to leave and if she knew me somehow in a past life, she knew I wanted to get away as fast as she did. I jumped as high as I could over her and scrambled up a few boulders until we were both safe. That's how I remember it, I hope she's thriving.

With all jewelry pieces, but especially cuffs - it is important to open and close your cuff very little. My advice is to pull the cuff open just enough to SLIP onto the side of your wrist (the thinnest part of the wrist) and then close enough to feel like it won't slip off. And then let it be and enjoy.

Made with love - one of a kind, twisted, bent, set, sawn, stamped, fired by my own two hands.

Note to buyer: The reclaiming process is a bit of a long one. Most of the sterling silver I buy is from well used jewelry that isn't being worn anymore or has been broken. I also buy used sterling silverware. I melt it all down and roll it into sheet and wire. This means that I don't have to buy freshly mined silver that is much easier to work with. Reclaimed pieces cost more because of this extra process. In the end, reclaiming metal for my wares is gratifying and worth it to me. I hope you feel the same. With love.
