Deep Creek Earrings
Sterling silver - reclaimed
Royston Ribbon turquoise
Gold (fill) accents
Oh, how incredible this pair of Royston Ribbon turquoise is! It’s rare to find them this pretty and lightweight enough to make into earrings. Believe me, I’ve been doing my research for over seven years now. They remind me of Northern California… Cherry Creek maybe. In July. I can imagine to cold dip now… Okay, who’s with me? I just love these sooooo.
These weigh .26 ounces each, which is on the heavier side of how I usually make earrings. My average earring weighs .22-.24 ounces. Still, they will be lightweight to most of you that don’t have sensitive earlobes.
Note to buyer: The reclaiming process is a bit of a long one. Most of the sterling silver I buy is from well used jewelry that isn't being worn anymore or has been broken. I also buy used sterling silverware. I melt it all down and roll it into sheet and wire. This means that I don't have to buy freshly mined silver that is much easier to work with. Reclaimed pieces cost more because of this extra process. In the end, reclaiming metal for my wares is gratifying and worth it to me. I hope you feel the same. With love.
Made with love - one of a kind, twisted, bent, set, sawn, stamped, fired by my own two hands.
