Damselfly Hair Fork

Sterling silver - reclaimed

Royston and Kingman turquoises

Coral

6” long

2.25” wingspan

Just the loveliest hair fork you could imagine. The weight of this thing was made for a hair fork. Not too heavy, but just enough to let you know it’s there. Damselflies have a special place in my heart. They are EVERYWHERE right now (June) eating and showing off their shimmer and shine.

According to people that know, having a dragonfly (in this case damselfly) on or around you, mosquitos will not come near you. I tested this hair fork and although I only had it on for about an hour, no bugs came close. I don’t know if this is an accurate test by any means, but if it doesn’t work, at least it’s pretty! This one is sooooo good and I’m letting her go to you. Please send me a picture so I know she made it safely to you ;)

Note to buyer: The reclaiming process is a bit of a long one. Most of the sterling silver I buy is from well used jewelry that isn't being worn anymore or has been broken. I also buy used sterling silverware. I melt it all down and roll it into sheet and wire. This means that I don't have to buy freshly mined silver that is much easier to work with. Reclaimed pieces cost more because of this extra process. In the end, reclaiming metal for my wares is gratifying and worth it to me. I hope you feel the same. With love.

Made with love - one of a kind, twisted, bent, set, sawn, stamped, fired by my own two hands.
